CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison in the 2015 stabbing death of a man in South Carolina.

News outlets reported that 38-year-old Rolando Aldama Ocampo entered an Alford plea to a voluntary manslaughter charge in Charleston this week. An Alford plea does not admit guilt, but concedes there's enough evidence for a conviction.

Ocampo was charged with stabbing Jose Rolando Martinez Castro and burying his body behind a North Charleston bar.

Ocampo was given credit for the time he's been in jail since 2016.

Prosecutors say Ocampo will probably serve about 24 years in prison before being deported to Mexico.

Castro was reported missing on Dec. 3, 2015. North Charleston police identified Ocampo as a suspect in 2016. Investigators say Ocampo said the men had argued.
